Wyoming's skilled tradespeople have built the energy, infrastructure, and industries that power the state and are vital to Wyoming's future. Yet too few young people see skilled trades as a first-choice career.

Bechtel is partnering with Wyoming government, academic, and industry leaders to open new pathways into skilled careers. The effort includes Wyoming's first pipefitting program, expanded electrical training, and an investment of approximately $1 million from Bechtel.

We know, however, that we can't meet this challenge alone.

Join us on Wednesday, October 28, at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne for lunch, networking, and A Strong Start: Skilled Careers in Wyoming. This moderated conversation will bring together students, educators, and industry leaders to explore how Wyoming can build on its workforce strengths and make skilled careers a first-choice pathway for young people. It will feature:

  • The Honorable Mark Gordon, Governor of Wyoming
  • Walker Kimball, Senior Vice President, Bechtel
  • Dr. Joe Schaffer, President, Laramie County Community College

The panel will look at earlier career exposure, clearer pathways into the trades, and how education and industry can help young people choose skilled careers with intention.

Lunch and networking begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by remarks and the panel discussion.
